It runs from today until November 2, as the season winds down to make way for Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s release three days later, on November 5. You can check out the full contents of The Haunting over on the Call of Duty blog. Survivors can’t rely on hiding forever though, as their screams will give them away as the match goes on. This new mode sees two players turned into Ghostface, and they must hunt down and eliminate the survivors who have no weapons of their own. There’ll also be three limited time modes, including Infected, Prop Hunt Halloween and a brand new Scream Deathmatch mode. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer’s Nuketown gets a Halloween makeover. However, these can be destroyed with enough force from the Ghosts. The living can seek temporary solace in Sacred Ground spots on the map. Should a Ghost reap three souls from living players (by killing them) they can respawn back in the fight. They have no weapons, but do have access to Super Jump, Teleport and Spectral Blast abilities. Billed as the sequel to last year’s Zombie Royale event, Ghosts of Verdansk sees dead players turned into Ghosts. The Haunting update also brings along a new game mode for Call of Duty: Warzone. Some of the existing Operators also get appropriately spooky skins, including a Necro Queen one for Portnova, a Disciple of Mayhem skin for Weaver and a Lumens skin for Maxis. There’s Ghostface from the Scream series and Frank the Rabbit from 2001’s Donnie Darko. The headline additions include two movie-themed limited time Operator bundles.
